PMG is Hiring!

Would you like to play the guitar? Bring your money home in a jar?

Just kidding of course, but on a more serious note, we're looking for someone interested in playing some great music, creatively arranging/composing with us, and sharing the road (and the stage)! Best part: you will get paid electronically (unless you prefer the jar).

If you're interested in joining a full-time touring/recording band, and are:

  • passionate about Irish trad. music
  • well versed in contemporary Irish trad. guitar styles
  • willing and able to contribute creatively to band repertoire
  • willing and able to maintain a weekly rehearsal schedule with the band (during active recording periods and leading up to tours)
  • able to handle up to 3 hours of Corey's ‘I Will Survive’ playlist while stuck in a moving vehicle

Please submit a link to an audition video, a CV, and any questions to poormansgambit@gmail.com

Some facts about the band:

  • We are a three-piece band (instrumentation of the current members):
    • Corey - Button Accordion, Cittern, Bodhran, Vocals
    • Deirdre - Fiddle, Vocals
  • Based in Allentown, PA, USA
  • Formed in 2015
  • Released 3 albums (4th is in progress!!)
  • Has the cutest mascot ever (Penelope is a Cojack-a-bee (Corgi/Jack Russell/Beagle))
  • We love to hike and be outdoors! Being on the road can be monotonous, so we do try to build in days for hikes/sight seeing when we can

What to expect:

Our 4th album is underway, and we are looking forward to working with a guitarist who will be ready to hit the ground running, and is able to contribute creatively to this project. We are also excited to get back on the festival circuit, plan some tours to our favorite parts of the U.S., and eventually get back to international touring as well. While we strive to provide a relaxed and fun environment, please understand that this is our full-time job and passion project rolled into one. If you plan to apply for the position, please do so with the intent of giving this project the attention it deserves. Not to sound too intense, but we're looking for someone who wants to do this job as much as we do!

As is standard in this profession, there is no guarantee of work, though we typically maintain a full gig schedule year round, and are committed to paying fair compensation for the work we get.

If you've made it this far, thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you!
